Travel Pinpoint — last updated 20 July 2026

The short version. Travel Pinpoint collects nothing, stores nothing on a server, and sends nothing to anyone. Every place you add lives in the browser or app on the device you entered it on. There is no account, no login, and no analytics. Photos you scan are opened locally to read the GPS coordinates the camera saved into them, and are never uploaded.

What Travel Pinpoint stores, and where

Everything you enter — the cities and countries you have visited, your poster title and design settings — is written to the browser or app's own local storage on the device you used to enter it. That store is not shared across devices. If you want a copy for another machine, use Export → Export data (.json).

What Travel Pinpoint sends over the network

The app makes one kind of network request only:

Nothing about what you enter, add, or export is ever transmitted.

The photo scan

When you use Scan my photos, the app reads only the first 2 MB of each file — the portion that carries the EXIF metadata written by your camera — and pulls out the GPS coordinates if present. Those coordinates are matched to the nearest city using the index that ships with the app. The image contents themselves are never decoded, displayed, copied, uploaded, or retained. Only the resulting city names, if you choose to add them, end up saved in your local list.

Analytics, cookies, tracking

None. There is no analytics tool, no third-party script, no advertising SDK, and no cookies.

Children

The app is safe for all ages. No personal information of any kind is collected, so there is nothing that could be inadvertently collected from a child.

Data you can request or delete

Because nothing is sent to us, there is nothing on our side to request or delete. To remove everything on your own device, open the app and use Export → Reset everything, or simply uninstall the app / clear this site's data in your browser.

Third-party data used

The world map data bundled with the app comes from:

Neither service is contacted at runtime; both datasets are shipped inside the app.

Changes to this policy

If this policy ever changes, the “last updated” date at the top will change with it. There is no email list and no notification — you would only see it by revisiting this page.
